Consolidation areas bring together goods from many suppliers or orders and pack them into fewer, larger shipments for sea, air or road freight. The work is detailed: items are checked against documents, repacked to survive a long journey, weighed, marked and labelled for customs. A well specified bench gives each consolidation operative a dedicated place to do that accurately.
Spaceguard builds consolidation benches to order in Hull with fully welded steel frames, delivered assembled. They are part of our warehousing and logistics packing bench range and are often installed next to benches for cross dock hub operations in freight forwarding and third party logistics sites, where inbound sorting and outbound consolidation happen under the same roof.
Weight and dimensions drive freight cost, so accurate measurement at the bench matters. Our weigh scale integration option builds the scale into the work surface so parcels and cartons are weighed where they are packed, without being carried to a separate station. For larger outer cartons, a wider 900mm worktop gives room to build the shipment and fill voids properly.
Consolidation benches are often specified in pairs or rows, with one side receiving goods and the other building the outbound shipment. We can design that arrangement for you with free 3D renders, deliver the benches assembled and install them, and there is no minimum order if you only need a single station to start with.
Export paperwork, commercial invoices and packing lists need a clean, dry home. Drawers, cupboards and pull-out shelves keep documents organised and away from tape and void fill, while a pegboard or louvre panel above the bench holds pens, labels and markers.
Export packing uses more material than domestic parcels. Roll holders above or below the bench carry bubble wrap, kraft paper or stretch film, and a bench mounted or freestanding cutter gives a clean, consistent cut every time.
A standard packing bench has a 300kg UDL. Where consolidated cartons or crates are heavy, we recommend a heavy duty frame at 1000kg UDL, with extra heavy duty frames up to 5000kg UDL for crate building.
Built up shipments are often too heavy to lift comfortably. Pairing benches with packing conveyors lets finished cartons move to the dispatch area at bench height, reducing manual handling.
Checking goods against export documents is detailed work. The standard 850mm height is adjusted free of charge to suit your team, height adjustable frames are available, and an LED light rail makes labels and markings easier to read.

Our trusted delivery partners collect from our factory and deliver directly to you, with dates confirmed by phone or email. Depending on the order you may need a tail lift or forklift for unloading. You can also collect from our factory if you prefer.
