Most warehouses have a packing area that handles a bit of everything: customer orders, returns, samples, spares and the occasional awkward item that does not fit anywhere else. Benches in this space need to be versatile rather than specialised, with a sensible work surface, storage for the packaging you use most and room to change the layout as the business grows.
Spaceguard manufactures general purpose warehouse packing benches to order in our Hull factory. Every bench has a fully welded steel frame, is powder coated in blue RAL 5010 as standard and arrives assembled. A general packing area often starts with one or two benches and grows. Because each bench is made to order, we can match the height, colour and worktop of benches you bought previously, so new stations line up neatly with the old. If you later add high volume lines, sibling layouts such as export and import consolidation benches can be built to the same standard.
If you are not sure where to begin, tell us what you pack, how many people work in the area and how much space you have. We will suggest a layout, produce a free 3D render and, if useful, visit site to measure up. Delivery is free to the UK mainland and benches arrive ready to use.
Standard lengths are 1200, 1500, 1800 and 2000mm, with widths of 600, 750 and 900mm. The standard working height is 850mm and we adjust it free of charge. If several people of different heights share the bench, a height adjustable frame is worth considering.
MDF and melamine are popular for general packing. Laminate and polyethylene stand up to heavier wear, and stainless steel suits areas where goods must be kept very clean. Our worktops page covers every option, from block beech to anti-static nylon.
Upper shelves keep tape, labels and small boxes at eye level. Lower shelves take flat-packed cartons and bulk consumables. Dividers create slots for mailing bags and envelopes so operatives can find the right size quickly.
An LED light rail improves visibility for checking orders and reading labels, and electrical and data sockets on the frame power printers, scanners and scales without extension leads across the floor.
General packing areas often sit between picking and dispatch. Gravity roller or powered packing conveyors can link the benches to both, and picking trolleys parked at each bench give pickers a clear drop off point for completed orders.

Our trusted delivery partners collect from our factory and deliver directly to you, with dates confirmed by phone or email. Depending on the order you may need a tail lift or forklift for unloading. You can also collect from our factory if you prefer.
