Wholesale orders are bigger and heavier than consumer parcels. Distribution centres supplying shops, trade customers and other businesses pack mixed cases, split outers into smaller quantities, build multi carton orders and prepare goods for pallet or courier collection. Benches here need strength, space and a layout that keeps cartons moving.
Spaceguard manufactures wholesale packing benches to order in our Hull factory. Fully welded steel frames are delivered assembled, and every bench can be built to the length your packing lanes need. They form part of our retail and wholesale packing bench range, which also covers back of store packing benches for the shops your centre supplies.
In higher volume sites, benches are often combined with conveyors. A gravity conveyor feeding the bench brings picked totes or cases to the packer, and picking trolleys can be parked alongside for orders that are picked in batches.
Every distribution centre is different, so we usually start with a conversation about your order profile and building layout. From there we can produce free 3D designs and CAD layout plans, visit site and arrange delivery and installation. Benches arrive assembled and there is no minimum order, so you can trial a single station before rolling out more.
Wholesale packing also tends to involve more packaging material per order, from dividers and void fill to stretch film for multi carton orders. Roll holders and packaging cutters mounted on the bench keep these materials organised, so packers spend less time searching and more time packing.
The standard packing bench carries a 300kg UDL, which suits case packing. For splitting heavy outers or handling bulk goods on the bench, heavy duty frames rated to 1000kg UDL are available, and extra heavy duty frames go up to 5000kg UDL.
Wider 900mm worktops and lengths up to 2000mm give space to build larger orders. Longer bespoke runs can be made for packing lanes, with a single continuous worktop or several linked benches.
Built-in weigh scales record consignment weights at the point of packing, and printer shelves, monitor arms and data sockets keep the warehouse system and label printer at the bench.
Mild steel, laminate and polyethylene worktops stand up to heavy cartons being slid across them. Every option is described on our worktops page.
Repeated lifting of heavy cases is tiring. Benches are height adjusted free of charge to suit your team, height adjustable frames are available, and conveyors set at the same height as the worktop let cases slide on and off rather than being lifted.

Our trusted delivery partners collect from our factory and deliver directly to you, with dates confirmed by phone or email. Depending on the order you may need a tail lift or forklift for unloading. You can also collect from our factory if you prefer.
