Butchery Deli and Fresh Prep Areas designed and manufactured to order in our Hull factory, delivered fully assembled with free UK mainland delivery.
Butchers, delicatessens, farm shops and fresh food producers all reach the same point in the day: product has been cut, portioned or prepared and now needs weighing, wrapping, labelling and packing before it goes into the chiller or out to a customer. That final stage is often squeezed onto whatever surface is spare, which slows staff down and makes cleaning harder than it should be.
Spaceguard builds dedicated packing benches for these fresh prep areas in our Hull factory. Each bench is designed around the way your team actually works, so wrapping film, trays, bags and labels sit within reach and the worktop stays clear for the product itself. They sit alongside the wider range of food and beverage packing benches we supply to food businesses of every size, from single shop counters to multi-site producers.
For areas where hygiene is the priority, a stainless steel workbench or a stainless steel worktop on a packing frame gives a surface that is simple to wipe down between batches. Where every pack is sold by weight, built-in weigh scales can be set flush into the bench so portions are checked without lifting product on and off a separate scale.
The same benches work just as well behind a deli counter as in a back room cutting area. Because each one is welded rather than bolted, there are no loose joints to work free over years of daily scrubbing, and the frame stays rigid while staff press down to wrap and seal heavier joints of meat.
Stainless steel is the most common choice in butchery and deli rooms because it copes with regular wash-downs. Polyethylene is another option for areas where a softer, non-metallic surface is preferred. Our worktop guide covers every material we offer.
Every bench uses a fully welded steel frame, powder coated in blue RAL 5010 as standard or any RAL colour you specify. Standard lengths run from 1200 to 2000mm with widths of 600, 750 or 900mm, and any bespoke size can be made to fit between existing counters, sinks or chillers.
Roll holders above or below the bench keep cling film and wrapping paper ready to pull, while upper shelves hold trays, labels and bags off the worktop. Dividers help separate different pack sizes or products.
Standard height is 850mm and we adjust this free of charge, so staff who spend long shifts wrapping and labelling are not bending over the bench. Height adjustable frames are available where several people share one station.
Printer shelves keep label printers off the worktop and close to the scale, so price and date labels can be printed and applied in one motion. Electrical sockets can be built into the bench to power scales and printers without trailing leads near wet areas.
Not sure what layout will work in your prep room? Our team can produce free 3D designs and renders before anything is made, and there is no minimum order, so a single bench for a village butcher is just as welcome as a full production room.
