Drinks are heavy, fragile and awkward to pack. Breweries, distilleries, wineries, soft drinks brands and online drinks retailers all need a packing area that can take the weight of full cases, keep glass protected and move orders out quickly. A general purpose table rarely does all three well.
Spaceguard designs and manufactures drinks packing benches to order in Hull, with fully welded steel frames that are delivered assembled and ready to use. Our standard packing benches carry a 300kg uniformly distributed load, and where you are building up full pallets of cases on the worktop we can specify a heavier duty frame. For brands shipping direct to consumers, the packing station is where breakages are won or lost. Bench mounted or freestanding packaging cutters, dividers for bottle inserts and storage for void fill all help staff pack each order the same way every time. If your volumes are growing, benches can also be linked with packing conveyors so filled cartons roll away from the operator rather than being lifted.
Small craft producers and large bottling halls have very different needs, so we do not offer a one size fits all bench. A brewery shop sending a few dozen mixed cases a week might need a single bench with a cutter and shelf, while a busy online retailer may want a row of matching stations fed by a conveyor.
A case of wine or a tray of cans soon adds up. Tell us what will sit on the bench at its busiest and we will match the frame to it, from our 300kg standard packing bench through to heavy duty and extra heavy duty builds.
Bottle shippers, mailers and inserts take up space. Upper and lower shelves, dividers and roll holders keep each item in its own place so the worktop is reserved for packing. Lower shelves are a sensible home for heavy stock.
Melamine and laminate tops give a smooth, easy to clean surface for boxed goods. Where spills from bottling or sampling are likely, a stainless steel or polyethylene top is worth considering. See our workbench worktops page for the full list.
Courier charges depend on weight, and drinks parcels are heavy. Built-in weigh scales and printer shelves let staff weigh, label and despatch each parcel at one station without walking to a shared scale.
Standard height is 850mm and we adjust it free of charge, so the worktop can be set level with a conveyor or trolley and cases slide across rather than being lifted. Height adjustable frames suit stations shared by several operators.
If you are fitting out a new taproom store, bonded warehouse or online despatch area, we can visit site, prepare CAD layout plans and handle delivery and installation. Explore bespoke packing benches if your space or process calls for something more tailored.

Our trusted delivery partners collect from our factory and deliver directly to you, with dates confirmed by phone or email. Depending on the order you may need a tail lift or forklift for unloading. You can also collect from our factory if you prefer.
